HORRY COUNTY, SOUTH CAROLINA – HTC Digital Cable announced today the airing of the 17th Annual HTC REEL Kids (Recognizing Extraordinary Examples of Leadership) Ceremony.
The premiere episode of the 2017 Ceremony will air Sunday, August 27 at 2 pm on HTC Digital Cable Channel 4.
Future airings will continue on Sunday afternoons at 2 p.m. throughout the upcoming months. Visit HTC Channel 4 for more information about programming.
Viewers will be able to watch 52 students, representing each Horry County school, receive their HTC REEL Kids awards.
Each recipient has proven themselves through scholastic, athletic and community achievements in the face of recent obstacles or extenuating circumstances. HTC invited a REEL Kid success story to inspire the award winners.
This year’s story was Lucas Snyder, the 2007 HTC REEL Kid for St. James High School and Meagan Conner Award winner. He’s now living his dream as a teacher at Columbia High School in Columbia, South Carolina. He spoke to the 2017 REEL Kids about the impact the REEL Kids program had on his life and encouraged the REEL Kids with inspirational words of advice.
“HTC is very proud of the REEL Kids program and the recipients of these awards. Each year, this program displays the true spirit of our youth who overcome extremely difficult obstacles to succeed in life,” said Mike Hagg, HTC Chief Executive Officer. “As a local cooperative, HTC REEL Kids is another example of how we stay connected to the areas that we serve. We want to make sure everyone is informed about the airing of this uplifting program that recognizes some of the most deserving students in Horry County Schools.”
HTC looks forward to working with guidance counselors and teachers in Horry County Schools again through the nomination process that starts soon for the 2017-2018 school year.
